My name is Valerio Pochetti. I am from Brescia and I was born in 1998. I obtained both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the Università degli Studi di Brescia. My Master’s thesis, entitled “Using Additive Manufacturing Techniques to Produce Functional Hydrogels: New Substrates for Soilless Cultivation Systems”, focused on the development and characterization of functional hydrogels produced through additive manufacturing for sustainable soilless cultivation applications.
RESEARCH FIELD
My research focuses on the development of biomaterial-based systems with applications in plant and cell culture, bioprinting, and tissue engineering. In particular, my work investigates 3D-printed hydrogel scaffolds designed for seed germination and plant growth support within the Gardengel project, as well as biomaterial platforms for cell growth and mechanobiology studies, including potential applications in tumor models and other in vitro cellular systems. The aim is to design functional and tunable biomaterials that can provide controlled structural and mechanical support for different biological applications.
